Description

Legend of the Crimson Tempest.

Out of all the forces of the Tau Empire, none are as courageous or insane as those that pilot the awesome might of the Riptide Battlesuit. Facing off against the gargantuan horrors of the galaxy, these handful of Tau truly are the hammer of the Cadres. No one has displayed the same courage or tenacity as Shas'Vre Na-tan of Commander Silversword's expeditionary force. During the battle for Xi-Ahn, an Eldar Maiden world populated by outcast from Biel-tan, Na-tan utilized his Riptide to hold off the ravenous swarm of Tyranids that are the remnants of from Hive Fleet Karken. Commander Silversword sent in a large cadre to assists in the defense and eventual evacuation of the planet. The swarm proved too much even for the combined might of the Demonlance and the Defenders of Xi-Ahn to handle. To avoid more losses, Silversword ordered the evacuation of the planet, starting with the countless Eldar populous and guardians. Aspect warriors and Fire caste alike fought off the assault to the best of their abilities. Seeing the futile efforts of his comrades. Shas'vre Na-tan requested to remain behind and fight off the swarming xenomorphs while the remaining forces escaped on the last Manta out. Overcoming impossible odds, Na-tan was able to defend the Manta through its take-off procedures. With seconds to spare until he is completely overran, Na-tan's Riptide boosted into the air to try an aerial evac with the Manta overhead. Na-tan's suit was nearly safe when tragedy struck. A flying Hive Tyrant swooped in and penetrated the metal hull of the suit. Na-tan was mortally wounded. He drew his last ounce of focus to gun down the offending creature and land the suit safely on board the Manta. As desperately as the medical staff attempted to save Na-tan's life, they were unsuccessful. However he gave his life for the Greater Good and his actions allowed his comrades to escape with minimal losses. His suit was repaired and again pressed into service. Every pilot of the Crimson Tempest has lived, or should I say died, to Shas'vre Na-tan's reputation. Na-tan's spirit continues to live on through his successors. Each devoting his life to the Greater Good.
